Application Guidelines
|
Purpose of the Heritage Fund: The Irish Society of Kentuckiana, Inc. has established the Heritage Fund to support efforts to pursue:
a.) Studies of Irish culture, such as music, art, dancing, or language
b.) Educational programs and projects that further the understanding of Irish culture
c.) Special projects recommended by the Heritage Committee

Eligibility:
Although primarily available to Irish Society of Kentuckiana, Inc. members, non-member individuals or groups
may apply if sponsored by a current dues-paying member in good standing. Applicants under 18 years of age must have written
approval of parent or guardian in addition to member sponsorship.

Financial data: The amount awarded to an applicant will be determined by the availability of funds and number of
applicants awarded grants. The Heritage Fund Committee will determine award recipients and the amount of the award for each
applicant. The funds granted will be paid directly to the instructional institution or teacher/trainer. Applicants will not
receive funds directly. Additionally, funds may not be applied for
retroactively. All funds, if awarded, must be for future use.

Number of Grants Awarded: One or more grants may be awarded each six-month granting period, spring and fall,
based on applications received and funds available.

Duration: Funds must be used within a six-month period of the approved application. Grants are not automatically
renewable. However, applicants may re-apply each granting period, spring and fall, provided that proof of completion of
prior course has been provided.

Application Deadlines: April 1st and September 1st. Applications may be obtained through any Board member or
Heritage Fund Committee member or this web site.

Procedures: 1. Applications will undergo a preliminary screening to determine if the needs of the
individual or group are aligned with the Heritage Fund guidelines.
|
2. A written response will be sent by the chair of the Heritage Fund within four weeks
of the deadline for applications.
|
3. This response will be either:
a. A request for further information, including a full proposal or
b. A letter stating what award has been made or
c. A letter stating that the Heritage Fund is unable to offer support at this
time.

4. The application and supporting documentation should be mailed to
