At Masterson's Restaurant
The Menu:
Traditional Irish Salad - Fresh cooked beets, eggs, tomatoes, and cucumbers, atop a bed of romaine lettuce with choice of dressing
Dingle Chicken Pie - Tender chicken, onions, turnips, parsnips, carrots, peas and mushrooms in a light sauce baked with a piecrust
Corned Beef and Cabbage - Marinated corned beef brisket slow roasted in a stock of onion, garlic, herbs and Guinness. Served with sautéed cabbage, red potatoes and carrots
Broccoli and Garlic Sauté
Brown and White Soda Bread
Lime Sherbet with Piroutte Stick
This event is open to all ISK members and their family and friends.
Tickets are $24 per person Reservations are required and are due
by Mon, Feb 25.
Seating is limited, and tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis.

| "Run for the Rose of Traleee" at O'Shea's
Join us at O'Shea's Irish Pub for an evening of music and dancing, and help us select the Louisville
"Rose of Traleee"!
Dancers will compete in 2 age divisions: “Under 12”, and “12 and Over”. The winner of each division will be awarded the following:
· Scholarships to cover at least 4 months of dance lessons
· A trophy
· A crown
· Roses
· Winner will be presented at the Irish Fest in Louisville
· Winner will be presented in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in 2009
Applications must be postmarked by Wednesday, May 2.

Highland Renaissance Festival
The third annual Celtic Festival will take place on the site of the brand new Highland Renaissance Faire in Eminence, KY, just 45 miles from Louisville.
Last year’s festival was a major success, and this year’s should be even better, including some of the area’s best Celtic musicians, and lots of good food and great fun!

The talk will focus on what life was like for people in Britain during WWII as they lived through the rationing of food, clothes, and furniture, severe blackout restrictions, and unimaginable bombing attacks.

Old Fashioned Irish Family Picnic
Our annual picnic will be at Connie Fry's house. (See the newsletter for directions.)
This event will be held rain or shine, as tents will be set up to protect you from the rain, or to shade you from the sun. Connie will also have fans set up outside to keep you cool.
The picnic is open to members, families, and their guests. All families are asked to bring a dish, and the club will provide the meats. BYOB, and please bring your own lawn chair! There will be Celtic music, horseshoes, croquet, and lots for the kids to do.
*** Members: Bring a homemade dessert for our dessert auction!

World Fest on the Belvedere
World Fest is an annual two-day celebration of international music, dance, food, exhibits, crafts and children's activities in honor of Louisville's rich ethnic diversity.
The Parade of Cultures will take place on Saturday, Aug 30. To walk
with us in the parade, meet at 10:30 AM at 6th & Market Sts. The
parade, led by the Louisville Pipe Band, will begin at noon. |
